“Does unit hold a constant temperature when set, or does it adjust to the ambient? For example, if I want 55 degrees and I find the right setting of the knob, does it hold 55 degrees if the room temperature is changing from 60 to 78?”

You will hear it click on and off. I guess once it reaches the temp it shuts off for a bit. But there are 3 modes, haven’t tested it temp wise but the “normal” setting seems to be good. I’m not sure what temperature or roughly what temp each mode is for.
