It took me a while to figure out how to dim the lights, but i found out how it worked for me: When a color is selected, keep the brightness up/down key to dim the lights. It takes a couple of seconds to notice any difference, but I will eventually notice it if I keep it pressed. When a display mode is selected, brightness cannot be adjusted, as the brightness up/ down buttons only affect the speed that the lights change instead of the brightness. There is a Fade display mode that brightens up and down, but that is the only option that dims at all.
