Hi Kenny, The temp shown does not represent actual internal temp, rather it is the temp setting that the compressor tries to maintain. For example, if the unit is used as a freezer and temp display shows -1F and user opens the freezer door and loads food that is not frozen, the internal temp will rise perhaps to +5F for a while but the display will still show -1F because that is the temp that the compressor is trying to get to. With this, you may not want to have the temp display always on because it does not reflect actual current internal temp.
