But is it 'normal' for the sides to feel very hot to the touch after the refrigerator adjusts to the correct temperatures? Others have said the side feel normal after the first 2 days.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's normal for the sides to feel warm on the outside.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Me too: Sides mid height are unexpectedly hot/warm to the touch while motor is running which is noticeable. Lacking insulation maybe? Makes weird groaning & cat like sounds. This is what Insignia replied 6/28/21: Thank you for getting back to us. This is Deneb from Insignia Products on behalf of my colleague Maria who is out office today. I understand that you would like to escalate your case to our manager since Maria did not send you a parts list of our Insignia refrigerator, but also that you would like to honor your warranty. Firs, I would like to explain you that we do not have a such a list, so she shared with you the manual. But in case you need a specific part for your unit, we could ask for our engineers to share it with us, so we can provide you with that part number. Also, if you do not mind, would you me so nice to explain me why do you need that list? Now, in order to honor the warranty of your NS-RTM18WH8Q refrigerator, I would need to ask you the following information: - When did this start happening? (Hot Sides from day one.) - Was it misused or damaged in some way (accidental or not)? - When and where did you make the purchase? - Do you still have the receipt? If so, please attach a picture of it. In this case, I would suggest to perform a power cycle of it by following these steps: 1. Disconnect the refrigerator power cord from the wall outlet. 2. Turn the controls to "Off" or "0" inside the fridge. 3. Wait for an hour. 4. Adjust the fridge controls to the desired setting. 5. Allow the unit up to one day to adjust to a stable temperature. Also, please take in consideration this information: 1. Use another electrical device to validate outlet is still working. 2. Check that the refrigerator is not in a confined space or a tight cabinet as this can cause their appliance to overheat and eventually malfunction. 3. Ensure that there is no dust build up on the back of the refrigerator, not letting the compressor to work appropriately. 4. Make sure that the door(s) close properly. 5. Ensure that the thermostat is set to the proper temperature. I will be kindly looking forward for your response. Best regards, ••• Deneb ••• Insignia Products www.insigniaproducts.com
