A:AnswerI found the power cord stuffed behind the compressor in the back of the Frigidaire Gallery (Model FGFRF1097). Here are photos of where i found it:
A:AnswerI worked in appliance parts for quite a while. I thought GE built Insignia, but it may well be Bosch (one person stated they were told Bosch built them). Look up the model number on-line. Pick one of the appliance parts vendors. Sears may still be active for parts lookup. Pick something fairly common like a storage bin if you're looking for a refrigerator. Note the part number for the item. Now, search for that part number. Google will do nicely. You might phrase your question like "refrigerators using part number" or whatever appliance you're looking up. You may or may not get a list of brand names. Maybe a stove/range, dishwasher,... whichever appliance you're looking for. Compare the structure of the part number. When they look similar, that's the likely builder or at least the same builder.
Whirlpool (WP) owns and builds a lot of appliance parts these days. Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid, Jenn Air,... are all owned by Whirlpool (there are more in this list). After WP bought these brands, they began to use and build their parts for them. WP parts are usually all numbers or begin with a W, though not always. Frigidaire (Electrolux) parts are usually nine or ten numerical digits. GE was bought out by Haier (I think). They may have changed the way their parts are coded, but that's doubtful. GE parts usually go by two letters then numbers like WExx..., WRxx..., WJxx..., WDxx..., etc. When you get to LG and Samsung, their part numbers are a mix of numbers and alphanumeric characters, so you'll just have to look at the part number and compare it to other brands. Keep in mind that many times a brand name is built by someone else for that brand name. For example, LG may build a microwave for another vendor. The same goes for any appliance vendor. Bottom line on this is: Just because it has a brand name on the label does NOT mean that vendor built it.
That's probably more than anyone wanted to know. But, I hope it helps a bit.
A:AnswerI do not think there are replacements for the plastic door shelves. On the website www.partstore.encompass.com it lists all the parts for the Insignia refrigerator, however it says "not available" for each part. Too bad they didn't make the shelves in the door with a solid material, rather than plastic.
