A:AnswerSound on current model is terrible. Very tinny, absolutely no bass. The same model I bought in 2012 had good sound. They've apparently changed manufacturer.
A:AnswerIf you are using a coaxial connection, you can't. If you are using a digital (HDMI) connection, go to Menu > Settings > Closed Caption > Digital CC Settings and adjust there. Your Cable/Sat Box is adjustable as well generally.
A:AnswerForget about the 19" Insignia. Apparently BestBuy has changed manufacturers for this store brand model. One I bought in August 2012 is great, but one I just purchased has a washed out picture, terrible sound, and won't display the channels selected with the remote. What's more, they refused to give me a refund for the defective product.
A:AnswerYes, no cable box is needed. However, one I purchased had a defective tuner and would not display the channels selected. BestBuy refused a refund even though the TV was obviously defective. I also have the same TV that I bought in August 2012 which is great, so they have apparently change manufacturer, as the one I just returned had much poorer picture and sound in addition to a faulty tuner.
A:AnswerCurrent digital tuners (ATSC) are backwards compatible with analog (NTSC) tuners, so you should be able to watch all available channels on this TV. Just keep in mind that you may need to manually program some stations as the TV's auto-search function may not locate them all.
A:AnswerSorry, if it was purchased more than 15 days ago, they refuse to refund anything regardless if the product is defective. They will only do an exchange or send it back to the factory.
A:AnswerIt does not have a setting for On/Off time. The closest it has is a sleep timer in Off, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, or 240 minute increments.
A:AnswerYou need to make sure it's connected to something, even just an antenna. That's what we had to use for ours bc we didn't have a cable jack in the kitchen. And it knew automatically to scan once I got to that screen from the menu.
