• Yes, you can connect to a DVD player, either tthrough an HDMI port, if your player has one, or through a composite (yellow-red-white) cable from the DVD to TV. It will work fine.

• We purchased this TV to use with our VHS/DVD player. Hookup was no problem. There are audio outputs plus USB and HDMI on the back so speakers should work also.
