All correct except there is a 3rd cable that you can plug directly into your audio jack of your computer/device. So both wired and wireless connection is supported.

Yes the speakers themselves do need to be plugged into a power source. There should also be an audio jack to plug into the computer, alternatively they can just be used via bluetooth.

The speakers do need to be plugged into a power source. The connection wire is longer than 2'. The speakers can be connected via Bluetooth, but it also comes with a 3.5mm aux cable to connect to a device.
