Have you tried to hook it up using an optical cable instead? You can pick up a cheap 4-foot Dynex optical cable from BB for less than $5. I would try going with optical audio and not waste too much time trying to figure out the cause of the interference and noise using a 3.5 connection until you've tried optical.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I originally asked this question. I connected the soundbar to my TV with a digital optical cable and it resolved the white noise issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I agree with kcasey. Buzzing is usually caused by the ground wire not connecting correctly. A new cable should be intact at all points, thus eliminating the buzz. You can also try jiggling the cable at either ends: grab the cable at the point where it connects to the connector and push it slowly in different directions, working it around to complete a circle, to try and find the problem. Do this at both ends of the cable if necessary. If the buzzing goes away, even for a second or two, you know that it is loose and damaged, and needs to be replaced.
