• Well i have an insignia TV.. and older model and once i turn on the TV... soundbar automatically turns on aswell and tunes with the volume and remote.. so from what I see at my home... the answer is yes

• Yes, if the Insignia TV remote is universal it will turn the soundbar on and off.

• When connected via optical cable, the soundbar turns off automatically. I also have an Insignia TV and the TV remote DOES control the power and volume for the soundbar as well.

• I have directv and use their remote. I can not turn sound bar on with it but it will turn off when I turn tv off when I'm done. Have to use their remote to turn on.
