The Insignia™ 2.5" SATA to USB-C HDD Enclosure supports most 2.5" SATA drives with a thickness of up to 9.5mm. Unfortunately, it won't accommodate a 12.5mm thick HDD. If you need an enclosure for a thicker drive, you might want to look for one specifically designed to handle larger 2.5" drives. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it's only setup for up to 9.5mm. thinner drives, it has padding to stick on inside. It will not close with a 12.5mm drive plus there is a lip from the connector to the area the drive seats, so it might not even work left open for a 12.5
