Hold the shiny black plastic portion with your thumb in the indentation that looks like that's what it's there to do. Hold the flat black portion with your other thumb on top and fingers on the bottom. Squeeze with the thumb that is on top of the flat black piece. Pull apart. If you grab around the entire case with thumb and fingers, you will be fighting yourself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The top section slides back and away as shown in the photo, just push down and away from the side with the USB-C port. It takes a little pressure to get it to move but it's fairly durable.
