• I'm sorry no it will not hold a 5-gallon container even on the side perhaps if you took out the small rack but I don't think the door within close

• No, the largest container we have in it is a gallon of milk. We had to take out the top shelf, temporarily while the gallon of milk is in there, to make it fit.
