I have my mini fridge on the back porch in South Texas. It gets hot back there. Not unusual to see 110 degrees. This fridge needs to be watched when it is that hot outside. The temperature will rise about 6-8 degrees. Mine will go from 40 to 46 degrees. I use it for my medications and have no room in the house. My meds cant go above 46 or below 36 degrees. In the winter it is the opposite. The fridge will drop to 32-34 degrees when below about 40 degrees on the back porch. I have to take out my meds and raise the temp then put them back when the temp rises. Usually about a couple of hours. Makes my house fridge over filled. Plus opening and closing the door many times isn't good for meds. That is the reason I got the mini fridge. But having to constantly open it to check the temp has caused me to have to defrost after owning it a couple of months. And I waited to long to defrost. Didn't know it wasn't to get beyond 1/4 inch thick. Mine was at about 1/2" when I defrosted it. So should be defrosted more often. Bummer. Food fridges have even closer tolerances. 32-40 Degrees for safe food storage. Wouldn't recommend this fridge for food or meds. Water and soda's only.

I am sorry that I do not know how well it would work outside... I would surmise, it would be ok, in a carport... I also bought the 2 years insurance, which was only $10.00, extra... Good Luck!
