But the answer probably lies in three things: The operating system you are using; the file system used on the device to be cloned; and the cloning software. I use Ubuntu Linux and the storage devices I place in this adapter simply show up as additional disk drives. So If you have software that performs the cloning in accordance with the rules of one of the file systems supported by your operating system, I think it should work. But as I say, I have never tried doing it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Once you put your old drive into the dock, then plug the USB into your new PC, just clone the drive over to the new SSD. It is just like having the drive in your PC. I mean, it reads it as an extra hard drive, not just a usb device.
