Yes. The only cable included in our box was the power cable. If you want to hook it up to a set top box, you'll need to buy an hdmi cable or a coax cable, depending on your application. The TV includes a built in digital TV tuner, but you'd still need a coax cable to attach to an antenna.

I'm using a roof mounted antenna system connected to this TV's coax. Beautiful picture.

Not if you have an antenna you should be able to any free digital channels off the air.
