I asked this question. Thank you Kieth for the quick response. However, this particular TV has separate "Display" and "Sound" categories under "Settings". Neither of these contain a "Last Input" setting. I looked in the user manual, but didn't see a way to set this.

To change the default startup behavior on your Insignia™ - 24" Class F20 Series LED Full HD Smart Fire TV so that it starts on the last used input rather than the Fire TV home screen, follow these steps: First, press the Home button on your remote to access the Fire TV home screen. Navigate to the top menu and scroll to the right to find the "Settings" option. Select "Display & Sounds" from the Settings menu. In the Display & Sounds menu, find and select the "Power On" option. You should see options for where the TV should start when powered on. Select "Last Input" to ensure the TV starts with the last used input, such as HDMI. If these steps don't match exactly, refer to the user manual for your specific TV model for detailed instructions. This setting will make your TV default to the last input source used, improving your viewing experience by avoiding the Fire TV home screen upon startup.
