First of all, this is not a "Smart-TV, and it won't receive anything from the internet on it's own. As far as receiving cable-TV programming, all cable companies are different, and even different in different areas. Most cable companies now require a cable-box to decode the signal. Although it has what they call a "cable-ready" tuner, it will not decode the scrambled programming like a cable box does.

You have to pay for your Internet service.
