The 8” requirement seems really suspect to me. Seems like a loophole to get out of any warranty claims. How many times have you ever seen a refrigerator with 8” clearance on both sides?! It’s unrealistic and if it seriously requires that, we should all be asking what’s wrong with this refrigerator design.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.See installation drawings, 8" I believe this is so that the door opens enough to be able to pull out crisper drawers, and also for ventilation although that seems excessive.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's actually really strange, because the manual SAYS to leave 4" on either side, and 2" at the rear and above (from the back wall / ceiling). But that text is printed directly above a diagram that shows 4" clearance at the back, and TWELVE inches clearance above! It completely contradicts itself. (But 4" on either side is consistent, that seems to be their recommendation in both the text and the diagram.)
