Well, since I asked the question I guess I will give another answer. After buying the kit anyway, I found that it does include a power cord. It is a right angle 115 vAC plug with tinned connecting ends that are not color coded, but if you flatten out the cable and follow it back to the plug it is easy to figure which connector is black and which is white. I ended up not using it but depending on individual installation issues it might have been quite handy.

The dishwasher install could be "hardwired" or connected with a power cord for a standard outlet. Many states and cities require the latter.
