• There is blue light but you can either leave it on or off.. it doesn't turn on/off like a fridge when you open it.

• The light is not activated by the door. You can choose to turn it on for the entire time or turn it off with a button. I keep mine all the time. It’s really beautiful and not too bright and illuminates the unit well.
