“Can you control the freezer temperature and set it very low? Anyone know the average lowest temperature it can get down to?”

There is only one control dial—it’s for both freezer and ‘fridge. . I kept mine at 7 (the coldest) and my 4 pints of ice cream melted, as did my little package of store-bought ice. Please think twice before purchasing! It stayed”cool” but not cold.

Please try again later.I was thinking the same about the control of temps in a fridge and a freezer but since it is only 1 thermostat for both, lowering temp by a controller in a freezer will also lower temp in a fridge. My guess is that a freezing point in a standard freezer stays at 0 deg.Celsius and the fridge at standard is 4-5 deg.Celsius, so it is about 4-5 degrees Celsius difference between them both. If you use controller, for the fridge and set it up for 4 deg.C then you should have 0 deg.C in a freezer and 4degC in a fridge. If the fridge could be set up to 0 degC then the freezer would be -4degC and so on. I will buy glass/lab thermometer, calibrate it in boiling water (if temp on thermometer shows above 100 deg.C in boiling water, you have to subtract the number of the extra degrees from each measured temperature you are measuring in your fridge to get accurate readings; if the temp is below 100 deg.C, then you add the number of degrees you would need to have a total of 100 and then you add that number to all measured temps with this thermometer). Then, I will compare the temps in both (so i will get 2 thermometers and both must be calibrated=calibration must be done during boiling, so i suggest doing it on a stove in an open pot, for about 2 min from the boiling moment, but wear a heat resistant gloves while holding thermometer in your hand - it can't touch the bottom!!! OR have the thermometer attach to a stand if you have clamps to hold it, or you could use a silicone cup cover with a tiny hole in it to tightly hold the thermometer on it by sliding it through it and then set it up on a large pot standing by it by using some clips to hold sides of a silicone on both sides so it is secured on both sides and preventing it from dropping down)... Then, i will use the thermostat i got for my lab incubator and will see how well the temp is controlled at which settings, then I will be checking different temps if I would get a stable range there. I will try to update here, if i don't forget, with the temps that I get. I was going to use this fridge for my microbiology/viral samples for my research but once i saw dripping water on walls, things got into my boxes, so it could only be used for much lower temps as a freezer in my case to have no water there on walls and as a student, i can't afford another one, so i am disappointed. I should have go for slightly larger model, possibly being more consistent in keeping the humidity and temps in it. Learned the lesson. It is a nice looking fridge, otherwise.
