This device is shaped like a cassette tape, so it will plug into a cassette deck like, for example, one in your car. From there, the attached cable can be plugged into the headphone jack on an external audio device. So... since you asked about MP3s, you could plug the provided cable into the headphone jack on your portable MP3 player (iPod or other similar player) or a smartphone or really anything that has a standard headphone jack. 

In short, this device allows you to send audio out of a headphone jack directly into a cassette deck.

This is more like a blue tooth adapter, you can plug in your iPod, iPhone or any other device and then put it in the cassette slot in your vehicle.

Its for car radios without an auxiliary jack. It allows you to play music from multimedia devices like phones or ipods through the speakers of the car by using "cassette tape" at the end of the wire as an adapter to the cassette player of the car.

You would stick this into a cars cassette player and then plug the aux cord(with the adapter) into any device that has a standard headphone jack. For example, I use mine to plug in my Ipod in my car. I can then listen to the Ipod thru my cars stereo system.

Well, it's a blank cassette tape player to put in your tape deck in car or at home deck player. Basically it plays music off from your phone when U plug the cord into your phone

This product doesn't play a tape. When you insert this product into the tape feature of a car, you can connect the end of the cord to your cell phone and listen to music using the car stereo system.
