• We have ours in our garage in Virginia. We have not had this or any issue. I would return yours. It sounds like there is something wrong with it. We love ours !!!

• It is normal for the back of the unit to freeze and for the sides to feel warm. Make sure the garage temperature is under 110 °F for the fridge to work.
