Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.None of the specifications for this freezer, which I own, states the number of amps it uses. The manual only says, "Check your local power source. Your freezer requires a 115V, 60Hz power supply." A normal 115-120V electrical line should easily handle the amps required. Here's a link to a site that shows the amps necessary for certain sizes of freezers: https://homeappliancehero.com/large-home-appliances/freezers/how-many-amps-does-a-freezer-use/ It states that a 5 cubic foot freezer (larger than the 3.5 cubic Insignia you are concerned about) will typically use less than 1 amp when running but will use around 4 to 5 amps at start-up. This means the 3.5 Insignia should use even less. A typical circuit has a breaker that will allow either 15 to 20 amps load (dependant on the breaker) before being tripped.
