Without being familiar with the electrical wiring in your home, I can only share that we would feel comfortable plugging it into the same outlet in our laundry room. I cannot imagine that it would require more electricity than either the washer or dryer that are currently sharing the outlet in our home. I would, however be concerned about placing it next to our dryer, due to the heat it releases when in use.
