  • QuestionHow do I exchange/repair this under warranty? It totally died after less than 4 months use.

    Asked by JoelMRoseville.

    • Answer I had the previous version die on me. I Went to the store with it and showed them the booklet that comes with it, in the back it says it has a one year warranty and store personnel can determine if it qualifies. I was pretty adamant about it and wasn’t gonna leave until it was taken care of. User manual online should also have it.

  • QuestionCan this be placed on top of carpet?

    Asked by DTN.

    • Answer I would NOT place it on a carpet. Go to a home-improvement store and get a piece of pre-cut (meaning a small piece they have in the pre-cut rack, not a WHOLE 4'x8' sheet, which is way more expensive!) of fairly thick (3/4" would be good) plywood or OSB that is large enough for the footprint of this freezer (roughly 22" x 22" square), have it cut to that size at the store (or take it home and do it), then when home polyurethane or paint the wood to seal it, and set the "freezer platform" on top of the carpet to put the freezer on. Or, if you have some scrap wood @ home lying around -- and are a DIYer -- you can make something up yourself. Whatever, do not set it on a carpet (it needs to have full air circulation for one thing). My freezer is on a 3/4" thick square of OSB with 4-5 coats of "old-fashioned" shellac applied to it (on my carpet). But polyurethane, Polycrylic, or left-over paint would be fine as well. Good luck...

  • QuestionCan I put this (3.5 cu ft) in the laundry room and on the same power outlet as the washing machine? I have plenty of space in the laundry room, but am not sure if it's a good idea to have it next to the washing machine or dryer.

    Asked by marie57.

    • Answer Without being familiar with the electrical wiring in your home, I can only share that we would feel comfortable plugging it into the same outlet in our laundry room. I cannot imagine that it would require more electricity than either the washer or dryer that are currently sharing the outlet in our home. I would, however be concerned about placing it next to our dryer, due to the heat it releases when in use.

  • QuestionWhat size freezer will hold a quarter steer?

    Asked by LauraR.

    • Answer To store a quarter steer, you'll generally need a freezer with a capacity of 5 to 7 cubic feet. This Insignia 3.5 Cu. Ft. Garage-Ready Chest Freezer might be a bit too small for this purpose, as it may not provide enough space for all the meat. You might want to consider other sizes of our freezers that can accommodate your needs better. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! Ivy | Insignia Support
