  • QuestionWhy not add filtered water inside the refrigerator

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Thank you for your inquiry! The Insignia™ 18.6 Cu. Ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator does not include a built-in water filter or internal water dispenser, which is why it isn’t designed to use filtered water directly within the appliance. This model focuses on essential cooling and freezing functions, offering a more streamlined and energy-efficient design without the added complexity of water filtration systems. However, if you prefer filtered water, you can still place a filtered water pitcher or container inside the refrigerator manually. For those who want a built-in water or ice dispenser with filtration, it would be best to consider a refrigerator model that specifically includes those features. Keith | Insignia Support

  • QuestionDoes the electric cord exit the refrigerator back at the top or bottom? This is to be a basement refrigerator, and our outlet is on the ceiling beams. Cords that exit at the bottom will not reach the outlet.

    Asked by Weesy.

    • Answer Thank you for your inquiry! The Insignia™ 18.6 Cu. Ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator with ENERGY STAR Certification has its power cord exiting from the bottom rear of the unit. This is typical for most full-size refrigerators, as the cord is usually routed near the compressor area at the lower back. Since your outlet is located on the ceiling beams, the standard cord length may not reach without an extension. You might consider using a properly rated appliance extension cord or installing a lower outlet if possible for safety and convenience. Keith | Insignia Support

  • QuestionWhat would cause vegetables to freeze inside the crisper drawer inside my 18.6 Cu. Ft. Bottom Mount Refrigerator?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer We have the same problem with our's and it has caused us to lose a lot of produce :-( We had a great tech come to the house and he pointed out that it is a design flaw - as our crisper drawers do not have vents and the cooling elements are directly behind the produce drawers. Super frustrating. We have other issues with this fridge and after four tech visits for a fridge that is less than a year old (!) - we were approved for a complete replacement.
