“I bought the Insignia 32" FireTV edition and a Sylvania SDV6656 DVD Player. I cannot get a full screen picture when paying DVD's. I have tried all of the displ;ay settings and I always have a black band top and bottom. What do I need to do to adjust?”

The problem is the format setting of the movie on the DVD is different than the screen format of the TV. There should be a setting on your TV to adjust the screen view. You will want to stretch the view. The problem is when you stretch the view to fill the screen it will cut off the sides of the movie. Old CRT screens had to do the same thing in order to fit the picture onto the old square screens. Another option is to change the color of the bars so something like gray or white. The bars will still be there bu may not be as annoying. I hope this helps.

Please try again later.While watching a DVD, try to press and hold the Home button for 3 seconds to launch the Quick Access menu, select Display settings to adjust the Picture Size and Aspect Ratio.
