I confirmed this with multiple devices as to be sure it wasn't a incompatibility with my Samsung Galaxy S5. It will charge the phone slowly due to not being a micro USB 3.0 sync/charge cable and only being a micro USB 2.0 sync/charge cable. Also you may reciver a notification on the Samsung Galaxy Device to use the cable provided with your device for faster charging.
