“Does it matter where you hook up the HDMI cable? I have a cable hook up from Suddenlink/IOptimum. Do I hook it up to HDMI1, HDMI2, or HDMI3? Do I also have to reset the Suddenlink/IOptimum cable box once I hook the smart tv up?”

It doesn't matter in the least which HDMI channel you use. Do make sure you switch to "last input" or it will start up on Amazon every time you switch it on.
