I am running both of these as an example, so you can decide. If you are in the apple world (iPhone, iPad, iTunes account), get a Apple tv. it plugs in via the HDMI and has apps that let you run netflix, youtube, hulu, etc. If you are looking for something that does that, but doesn't need to be Apple, go with a Roku 3. Same concept, but does offer a wider range of 'channels'. That is, content sources.

Another great option would be Google Chromecast it basically let's you enjoy netflix by casting it from your pc to the TV without hooking it up via hdmi or other cables.

I personally use Roku 1 it works great and attaches right to the HDMI port on the back of the computer. very easy to set up. also works with TONS of other apps like Hulu and Dropbox.

And they also have some movies and shows in 4k, not the biggest selection but at least they have some media in 4k. They also have other apps on TV including Hulu, vudu and others. You don't have to buy any device to watch from these apps.
