Although after some seven (7) "months" I am quite certain that you have "already" solved your issue of being able to find a workable replacement remote, I wanted to answer this question anyway as so many people who ask questions about this model of television (i.e., such as yourself!) indicate that there is "no" power button available on the chassis of this 43" model of Insignia TV. It so happens that at the very moment of this writing the Insignia 4-device remote model # NS-RMT415 is on sale for $10.00 "off" and is trending at $19.99. It goes on sale relatively often. Most importantly for people such as yourself amc1992 (as you expressed concern about not being able to configure a different aftermarket remote control with this TV) is the fact that use of this Insignia remote model # NS-RMT415 requires no settings adjustment when used with this TV--and "many" other Insignia brand TVs as well! A big "plus" which I have found with this remote when used with this 43" Insignia TV is that when I hold down the volume and channel buttons, I can "FLY" through the settings for these functions. Please don't forget that you and others can go on the InsigniaProducts.com website and enter this NS-RMT415 model number and click onto "support & download" and you can view the quick set up guide and this remote control's "compatibility" guide. You and others would be surprised to see just how many different brands and types of devices that it can control--remotely! If one has any doubts about this remote's compatibility with one of their electronic devices, they can phone Insignia tech support direct at 1-866-467-4289 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. central time--7 days per week.
