Finally one that works with my setup
||Posted .For over a year I have been frustrated with needing four remotes to work on my very uncomplicated TV/BluRay/Roku/sound bar. While it is pretty easy to find a universal remote for TVs and DVDs it is a bit more difficult to find one that works with Roku and darn near impossible to find one for a sound bar. This was really frustrating me especially since my TV and sound bar are both the Insignia brand. (Why not make them work together?) I had looked at several universal remotes but none seemed to fit the bill for me. At least one that I would be willing to spend the money on. Can't justify a $350 remote for a $350 TV setup. So when I saw this at Best Buy I was really interested to see if it worked. I did some checking online and it said it worked with the Roku. Great! But what about the sound bar? I saw some suggestions online so I figured I would give it a try. Works like a charm. Controls all of my devices perfectly. Setup was very simple and my codes worked first time except the sound bar. I had to try two different ones for that. It doesn't say it anywhere on the package but it does require 2 AA batteries that are not included. My only complaint is there is no eject button for the BluRay/DVD. Also there is a row of colored buttons that are not explained anywhere. Don't see to do anything with my stuff. In my opinion this a very solid remote and does what it should.

Excellent for a cheap remote, except...
||Posted .Surprised no one has pointed this out but the instructions for this remote are incorrect. At least if you want to use the programmed features of this programmable remote. If you want to use Setup Method B (which most people probably do), the manual is written wrong and does not work. To address this, reverse the order of Step 2 and Step 3. Then it will program properly and works exactly as advertised. Pretty bad that the instructions are flat-out incorrect though. This remote is useless if you follow the instructions it comes with.

Simple, Well-Built Universal Remote
||Posted .When my fiancé moved in with me, we somehow lost the remotes for her Vizio TV and Apple TV, which we planned to put in our bedroom. After searching high and low for them without success, I drove over to my local Best Buy to pick up a universal remote. This Insignia Universal Remote stood out to me because of its simplicity, low cost, and compatibility with streaming devices. I picked it up on sale for $19.99, and it has worked flawlessly. Programming the remote to work with our Vizio TV and Apple TV took about 5 minutes. Build quality and ergonomics are great; it fits nicely in your hand and has a solid feel. Range and accuracy are great. I do wish the remote was backlit to aid with use in the dark, but it's not a deal breaker by any means. (Note to Insignia: add a backlight in your next version.) Overall, I would recommend this remote to anyone looking for a cost effective, simple yet functional universal remote.

Good, but not great
||Posted .I needed a universal remote because I was stuck using 4 separate remotes for the TV, Sound Bar, BluRay and Apple TV. The Apple TV remote was also dying and needed to be replaced one way or the other. The reviews for this product stated that it worked for Apple TV and that was good enough for me. The set up was easy enough, but when it came to programming it to work the Apple TV, I couldn't get it to work. Tried all of the different methods, and none of them worked. I don't know if it's only able to work with the newer versions of Apple TV, maybe that's the problem, but I was disappointed to find that the primary reason that I purchased the remote was basically a waste of time. I still like being able to control the other 3 devices with one remote, and I even used the last of the 4 slots to operate the Xbox One, which allowed me to watch Netflix/Hulu until I forked over another 20 bucks for a replacement Apple TV remote. Good purchase overall, but if you have the old version of Apple TV, just be aware that it may not work (it didn't for me...).

REMOTE CONTROL IS UNIVERSAL AND USEFUL
||Posted .Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This universal remote was easy to program and easy to use with many functions and features. It is very versatile and can be used with a myriad of different brands of TVs. I have not tried to use it with any other electronic device besides a TV so I cannot speak to its use with any other device, but it is definitely useful if your TV remote is lost or non-functioning.

Q: QuestionWill this remote work with my TV, Lg webOS uf6450? If so does it allow me to access the smart features such at netflix, YouTube, etc.? Thanks!
Asked by Jaylp42.
- A:Answer No, it does not work within the apps. It only works the television functions. I use the YouTube TV, Prime Video, and Netflix apps, but this remote does not function with them. I have been searching for a universal remote that is compatible with the LG smart TV and the apps, but have been unable to find one. This one was the best in terms of working the TV functions (way better than the remote that comes with the TV), but is useless within the apps.

Q: QuestionIs the keyboard backlit? If not, is there another Insignia model that is? Please advise.
Asked by chucky.
- A:Answer This remote control is not lit. I didn't realize that it did not light up until I got it home and started programming it. It is an excellent remote control, easy to program, but I would prefer it backlit.
