Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not frost-free. Should be emptied and defrosted about once a year. For a carpeted area, it should be placed on a small pallet or piece of plywood. Opening it is tricky; you must pry open with thumb against freezer and fingers pulling the door. It can tip-over on you. The door is magnetized and closes tightly and sucks pressure out of the unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No it is not frost free. I have only had it two weeks so not yet sure how often to defrost. It is not super heavy until filled so need a flat surface to put it on. Mine is on a cement floor in garage and is quite stable

It all depends if you got a lot of frost build up or no but it could take a year if you dont open the door that much or you dont leave it open for long. For the carpet and wood pellet I am not sure but maybe you can.
