Hi Marie! No, the burners on the Insignia™ 5 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Electric Range do not have built-in heat sensors like some coil ranges. Instead, this model uses radiant heating elements beneath a smooth ceramic cooktop, which heat up quickly and evenly.
