• This Cable will work just fine with 720p/i, 1080p/i, 2k, and 4k. It just only supports UP TO 4k.

• You can use it on a 720P tv with no issues but it will not do anything to improve pic quality.

• It should work with 720p, but if that's the limit of your TV or your source 720 is the best resolution you'll get. You might see an improvement in picture if the cable you're replacing is old or defective.

• Yes. 720p is the lower quality picture. Since this HDMI is " UltraHD" for the high definition, I would say it is backwards compatible with the 720p. I wouldn't recommend 720p, it's like asking to revert back to the radio when the new color tv s came out back in history.
