Hi Scot, You must look for the model number on the bottom. If your Fire TV is a cube, the only way to physically determine if it is a 1st or 2nd generation model is to find the model number printed on the rubber bottom of the device. If it says “Model No. EX69VW” then it is a 1st-gen Fire TV Cube.
