No, this only carries audio out, not a mic signal.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This may work. Some phones and/or apps don't work together well. Cell phones are designed to take a mic and give a headset audio. An app could be written to ignore this and assume the onboard mic is the only input for audio. It is likely it will work and I have used a mic on mine and have seen several reviews. Good luck.

It should work---if the connectors at both ends fit what they're going to---I don't own a smart phone, so I can't be certain. The cable is made to carry stereo audio. Is the input to the phone stereo? Is the mic stereo? Time for you to do some research on required connectors and whether you need a stereo cable. Sorry I can't tell you more--but I don't want to "BS" you. You could ask some geeks at your cell phone store. Good luck.
