That depends on what you are connecting your HDTV to. If the device has HDMI outputs on it then using HDMI is better than most anything. There are some other cables that offer just as good image quality, but it all depends on whether they transmit digital, or analog signals. Digital is better.

In your case, besides being overkill, this cable would only serve as a future convenience for a subsequent kitchen TV replacement with native 4K.
