• Yes is should work just fine for you. Just be sure to change the video output of your laptop from the screen on the laptop to your monitor once you plug in the cable to both devices.

• You need two VGA ports. If you can get an adapter to change them to VGA, otherwise as I see it, it will not work.

• If you are trying to connect the output of your laptop (hdmi) to the input of your monitor (display port) this will work for you.
