It will connect any display port output to a HDMI input but not the other way round. I believe Xbox have HDMI outputs. So if your monitor supports multiple inputs, mine for example has vga, dvi-d and hdmi, I would go either xbox hdmi to monitor hdmi and get a cable for laptop displayport to monitor dvi-d. This is the cheapest because you only need to purchase 1 cable. Optional would be purchasing 2 cables, xbox hdmi to monitor dvi-d and laptop displayport to monitor hdmi .
