“doesn't work?? plugged in into my dvi monitor and my hdmi laptop. worked once - briefly. now - I plug the cable in to the laptop and the laptop goes blank/black. any suggestions?”

i would check the output settings to make sure your computer is outputting to HDMI. Otherwise, I had a similar issue at work and had to re-install display drivers
