These units will protect against a surge, but they do not have a fuse in them.

There's no indication that there's a built in fuse on the packaging. You might call Best Buy with the Insignia product number for the item you want, though, and someone in one of the stores ought to know.

Yes. The 900 joules rating would have to be crossed before it would allow an electric surge to harm the items plugged in.

This product does not have a built-in, physical fuse. Most modern power strips have a breaker that will shunt any over current.

No fuse in low end surges You would need a backup power and surge for a fuse
