• Yes, I had to slide it in sideways into my SUV too.

• You can, but should let it sit upright for 24 hours before you plug it in, so the oil can run back into the compressor.

• This is NOT recommended. If you must tip it over due to space requirements, leave the freezer in an upright position for 24 hours before plugging it in. This is because when tipped on it's side, any refrigerator, freezer, or AC compressor loses it engine oil into the Freon lines and if you plug it right away the compressor can seize due to lack of oil. If that happens it is not covered by any warranty and a repair man will know right away if that has happened.
