To activate the child lock on your Insignia™ NS-MW7BK5 microwave, ensure the microwave is in standby mode (not cooking or in any other active mode), then press and hold the Stop/Cancel button for three seconds. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a button on embedded in the handle that you have to press in order to open the microwave. If you yank the door without pressing the microwave the whole microwave gets pulled. I guess for a child it suffices as a means of preventing accidents, but for adults who are used to just pulling a microwave door open it will be a bit of a learning curve and might cause accidents if you don't remember to press the button.
