Six inches on all sides. This is a great freezer for my garage, just the right size for extra food storage. Also, the manual says to never store anything on TOP of the freezer (on the outside). And the freezer must be plugged directly into a dedicated outlet -- nothing else plugged into the same outlet -- and do not use an extension cord. That might require some people to have an electrician install the proper wiring for it if there's not a nearby dedicated outlet available already.
