“Can anyone tell me why this freezer would have glass shelves? It seems to me cold glass would break very easily. We just installed our freezer today, and I'm a little concerned about these glass shelves. Any thoughts?”

I wouldn't worry about it because the height between each glass is not that high thereby you can't put big heavy item like a turkey that might break it because the glass is not thick. I would not recommend removing some glass shelves to accommodate big heavy items then you might run the risk of breaking it
