Should the ground light be on or off in normal ops? null

The ground light should be on, if it is not you have a power strip not a surge protector. The ground light lets you know it is safe to plug something like a computer or phone in. This also means that is would be safe to leave your electronics plugged in during a storm with thunder and lightning when it would other wise not be.

It should be on indicating that you have proper ground in the curcuit.

If the strip is properly grounded, the ground light glows.
