it is a very simple set up - power and an antenna cord (very thin). You can plug in a USB (I plug in a memory stick with mp3s, playback it easy) and it has an AUXillary plug on the front, so you could also plug in something else. The CD player works good and the unit has two small front speakers and a small subwoofer built in - no extra wires needed. Sound isn't high end, but it can fill a small room.
